Celebrating Your Wedding at the Cathedral
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR THOSE CONSIDERING THE CELEBRATION OF THEIR WEDDING AT THE CATHEDRAL.
Celebrating your wedding in a Cathedral will be a very unique, special and memorable occasion for you, your family and your friends. At the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception we are committed to insuring that your wedding glorifies God and serves as a proclamation of the divine love, which is the ground of all lasting human love.
The Cathedral offers not only a stunningly beautiful setting, one of the finest pipe organs in the country, talented male and female cantors, a professional choir, professional instrumentalists, but also a staff who will guide and assist you through every step of the planning process. These inhouse services eliminate a great deal of headaches and extra financial strain for couples who otherwise would have to secure all the music and liturgical elements and the many planning details on their own!
As an added convenience for our couples, we also have an online process to initiate the planning for the music and liturgy elements for your wedding. This online planning gives couples as much time as possible to review the information, listen to music samples, collect their ideas and sketch out many details before meeting to discuss and finalize the wedding music and liturgy plans.
According to the couples who have celebrated their wedding at the Cathedral, they tell us that our reasonable wedding fee schedule has been worth every penny for all the convenience and the assistance of our inhouse services.
Weddings are celebrated at 11am/NOON and 6:30pm on Saturdays.
If you are a Cathedral parishioner, the FIRST STEP in this process is to contact the Cathedral rector to set up a meeting to discuss and plan marriage preparation classes [816-842-0416 x140]. The SECOND STEP is to contact Gail Monaco [816-842-0416 x124] to schedule a date and time for your wedding. Non parishioners who have their own presider for their wedding should contact Gail. After your date is "inked" in on the Cathedral calendar, [this means that a deposit has been paid and your wedding date is confirmed on the Cathedral master calendar] the next step is to email the office of Liturgy and Music firstname.lastname@example.org for LOGIN information to access the information booklet, listen to music samples and complete all the requested information in the online forms.
