Your Wedding at the Cathedral
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR THOSE CONSIDERING THE CELEBRATION OF THEIR WEDDING AT THE CATHEDRAL. At the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception we are committed to insuring that your wedding glorifies God and serves as a proclamation of the divine love, which is the ground of all lasting human love. In choosing to have your wedding in the church, you are choosing to make your covenant with each other before God and in the context of a Christian worship service. For your convenience, we have developed an online process to initiate the planning for the music and liturgy elements for your wedding. The goal of this online approach is to give couples as much time as possible to review the information, listen to music samples, collect their ideas and sketch out as many details before meeting to discuss and finalize their wedding music and liturgy plans. The FIRST STEP in this process is to contact Gail Monaco [816-842-0416 x124] to schedule a date for your wedding. After your date is "inked" in on the Cathedral calendar, the next step is to email the office of Liturgy and Music mpearson@kcgolddome.org for LOGIN information to access the information booklet, listen to music samples and complete all the requested information in the online forms.

What other information is helpful to those considering a Cathedral wedding? Because we are the Cathedral Parish, of the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph, we request that brides use prudence when choosing a wedding gown. Modesty in bridal and attendant’s gowns appears to be a lost virtue. Strapless and low-cut gowns, although fashionable and popular are not appropriate in a Cathedral setting. If you select a strapless or low-cut gown, we ask that you also select a stole, bolero or short jacket to wear during the religious ceremony. Most bridal shops provide these cover-ups that can be easily shed when it’s time for the reception. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Who should you contact if you still have questions after securing your date on the Cathedral's calendar and after reading the online wedding guideline booklet?
